Cascadia Metals is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accounting Floater/ Admin Assistant, to work out of our head office, Delta branch. In this position you will be performing accounting and other administrative duties. This is a great entry level accounting position for someone who has administrative experience, or a diploma in accounting. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Process employee expense reimbursement reports
- Ensure all vendors have proper GST registration numbers
- Proactively manage utility payments before due dates
- Prepare cheque runs on set schedules
- Review vendor statements, follow up on outstanding invoices, and resolve issues
- Maintain organized filing systems
- Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as assigned
- Assist with some year-end audit work
- Provide backup admin relief/coverage-step in for the Administrative Assistant during lunches, breaks, sick days, or vacation, including:
- Greeting visitors in a professional, friendly manner
- Answering and routing incoming calls using the company's phone system
- Providing general information and assistance to callers and walk-in visitors
- Notifying staff of visitor arrivals
- Distributing mail, parcels, and courier deliveries
- Preparing outgoing mail or shipment documentation as needed
Requirements:
- Post Secondary education.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers by telephone or computer and demonstrate proficient English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Strong background in computer operations and ability to learn new computer programs.
- Must have good data entry skills.
- Bookkeeping skills a plus.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 CAD
